The Carter County Commission on Monday approved a nearly $4.5 million contract with Downey Construction to undertake extensive repairs on the Carter County Courthouse.
In late 2022, the commission approved $850,000 to replace rotting wood and windows throughout the building that dates back to 1910. At the time, commissioners believed that was some of the most extensive work on the courthouse since a complete remodel in 1976.
The commission on Monday also rejected a proposal related to the disbursement of funds from the Oklahoma Opioid Settlement Fund.
